Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Windsurfing sailing was well represented at the 2022 OBX Wind Event, October 22 - 29, in the Outer Banks, North Carolina!
The OBX is one of the biggest windsurfing events in the USA.The event included 143 racers who competed in Light Wind, Long Distance, Freestyle and Slalom categories. Five sailors from Puerto Rico participated in this year’s edition.

Kaelyn Holmes stood out in the event with 1st Place Slalom Nationals, 2nd Place Long Distance and 3rd Place Light Wind. In the Youth Division, Benjamin Pérez finished in the 1st Place of the Long Distance race.
Upcoming Events for Windsurfing and Windfoiling Class
Puerto Rico windsurfer Luis Santiago will compete in the 2022 Fall Foil Racing Regatta at St. Petersburg Yacht Club in St. Petersburg, Florida. Luis has also been selected to represent Team PUR in the new wind foil racing class, IQ Foil, at the Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games in Santa Marta, Colombia, November 19 - 27, 2022.
Kaelyn Holmes will participate in the US Junior Olympic Sailing Festival at the US Sailing Center in Jensen Beach, Fl, also in the IQ Foil category.
Locally, Wind Warriors IV, a windsurfing wave event, is in the works for April 2023 in Puerto Rico. More details soon!
