The Optimist South American Championship will take place in Paracas, Perú in April 2023
The Puerto Rico Optimist Association (PROA) Executive Board is pleased to announce the official team that will be representing Puerto Rico in the upcoming 2023 Optimist South American Championship (SAMS2023) after successfully executing the Qualifying Events in Puerto Rico.
Congratulations to the following youth sailors:
1. Gian Marco Piovanneti (Boy-15yrs)
2. Diego Marrero Cuevas (Boy 12yrs)
3. Diego Sepulveda (Boy 12yrs)
4. Isabella Calzadilla-Allora (Girl 13yrs)
5. Álvaro Gutierrez (Boy 13yrs)
6. Isabel Rivera Fernandez (Girl 13yrs)
7. Inés Méndez-Larminaux (Girl 11yrs)
"We feel proud and honored also to announce that we will have a diverse an inclusive Team with up to 7 sailors, composed by 4 boys + 3 girls from all ages and in full compliance with IODA Handbook (11 years old up to 15 years old)" wrote Pablo Méndez-Lázaro, PROA President, in the official communication to the members of the Association.
